“Before you finish eating your breakfast this morning, you've depended on half the world.” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The first thirteen weeks of The Bottom Line Podcast will help to set the table for understanding the complete context of what conscientious consumerism is all about. This opening quarter will be factually intensive which will help to educate the listener to the reality of what globalization and ethical shopping are all about. Formulating a framework to understand the past and present components that have helped to shape the connected world that we currently live in, we feel is vital for this conversation to be fully grasped. In our debut podcast we will discuss from a holistic perspective the ethical dilemma we currently face as consumers in the West. In podcasts 2-5 we will examine the history of globalization in a four-part series. In podcasts 6-10 we will discuss the current state of globalization at a macro level while simultaneously delving into the various governing bodies and influencers that form our world today. Podcasts 11-13 will complete this quarter by zeroing in on the specific history of conscientious consumerism. Our desire is that these opening series of podcasts will provide enough of a global skeleton to better understand the present moral quandary we face as American consumers who want to live life to its fullest without corrupting and even depriving life itself to those who live half-way around the globe. |
